More than half a century ago, Nan Mee started out as an importer of Chinese book and bookstore. With our leaders' foresight, we went on to become one of Thailand’s biggest manufacturers of stationery and office products for domestic and international markets - with over 30 years of experience in the field. Here are some of the highlights of our history
A.D. 1949
Nan Mee is founded by Mr. Thongkasem Suputhiponge
as a chinese bookstore in Bangkok’s Chinatown,
with the intention of catering to the Chinese-Thai population.
A.D. 1970
The store is moved from Yaowarat Road to a bigger location on Charoenkrung Road in Bangkok's Chinatown, adding a section for stationery and office supplies.
A.D. 1971
Nan Mee Industry Co., Ltd. is founded, marking a new era of business growth. We begin to manufacture and international export of stationery products under the brand name
A.D. 1984
After overseeing strong business growth in both domestic and
international markets, we expand by moving our head office
to Mahanakorn Road and founding S.C. Industry Co., Ltd.,
with BOI support.
A.D. 1993
We hold the first of our many biannual Chinese Book Fairs with Thailand’s HRH Princess Mahachakri Sirinthorn attends the opening ceremony.
A.D. 1996
received Prime Minister's Export
Award in the 'Distinguished Brand' category, awarded by PM Chavalit Yongchaiyudh
A.D. 1998
Thailand’s revered HRH Princess Mahachakri Sirinthorn makes a personal visit to our factory on November 6.
A.D. 1999
Nan Mee Co., Ltd. celebrates its 50th anniversary and receives an ISO 9002 certification (upgraded to ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2002) from the Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).
A.D. 2000
Our art materials and ink-related products receive
the ASTM D-4236 non-toxic certification from the US
and the CE certification from the EU, allowing us
to place the CE EN-71/3 logos on our products
and packaging.
A.D. 2003
received Prime Minister's Export Award in the 'Distinguished Brand' category, awarded by PM Thaksin Shinawatra
A.D. 2005
S.C. Industry Co., Ltd. partnered with Silpakorn University
to develop production and market a range of water colors,
oil colors and acrylic colors under the trademark
of "Silpakorn Pradit" and "Wichitrong"
A.D. 2005
HRH Princess Mahachakri Sirinthorn graciously presides
the grand opening of the Nan Mee Head Office's new building
on North Sathorn Road on 19 September 2005
